Some people meet through friends, work, or dating apps. We met doing what we love most—listening to music.
In a crowd of 300,000 at EDC Orlando, we had no idea that standing shoulder to shoulder that night, we were standing beside our forever.
Bailey was at the festival with her girlfriends, and Adrian was there with his boys. As fate would have it, Bailey parked her group in the crowd right next to Adrian. During a transition between songs, Adrian excitedly turned to his friends and asked, "Do you hear that?!" When none of them answered, Bailey shouted back, "I do!"
Bailey's first thought was that if Adrian could hear the music the way she did, he must have good taste. He was tall, handsome, and easy to talk to—but more than anything, she remembers feeling safe around him from the very beginning.
After EDC, life took us in different directions. Six months passed before Adrian finally reached out. His text simply said, "Bailey." Apparently, she had been on his mind.
Two weeks later, Bailey was in Charlotte for their first date at the rooftop of Whiskey's. Adrian promised the best buffalo chicken wrap in town, but what stood out most wasn't the food—it was how easy it felt to talk to each other. The conversation was honest, deep, and real from the very beginning.
For Bailey, this relationship felt different because she was completely herself from day one. She was learning to love herself first, and Adrian continued to pursue her anyway. For Adrian, it was something that grew steadily over time—a relationship built on friendship, trust, and love.
On the day after Thanksgiving, Adrian planned a surprise that Bailey never saw coming.
Not feeling her best, Bailey was curled up in her pajamas with a heating pad on her stomach and no makeup on when Adrian walked in and said he needed to go to Reilly's house, but wanted her to come with him. She agreed, but was surprised when he asked if she was going to put makeup on first. (Looking back, that probably should have been her first clue!)
After quickly getting ready, Bailey followed Adrian outside, where he casually mentioned that he wanted to show her something new his nephews had added to their fort. Although she insisted she had already seen it, Adrian assured her there was something different this time. Together, they walked through his parents' backyard toward an open field surrounded by trees. Adrian stopped, took both of Bailey's hands, and began talking about his family, where he grew up, and the people who helped shape him. Then he told her he wanted to continue his life with her by his side.
At some point, Bailey realized this wasn't just a heartfelt conversation anymore. With tears in her eyes, she watched Adrian get down on one knee and ask: Bailey Victoria Thomas, will you marry me?
Without hesitation, she shouted, TAK!—the Polish word for yes—just as she had always hoped she would.
And then, as if heaven itself was celebrating with them, snow began falling around us.
After long-distance dating for 6 months, Bailey moved to Charlotte in 2024. Over the years, we've filled our lives with adventures both big and small: golfing, skiing, music festivals, meeting Will Sparks, binge-watching House of the Dragon, and enjoying homemade sourdough bread that Bailey proudly bakes for Adrian. Through every season, we've learned how to adapt to one another without ever asking the other person to become someone they're not.
Bailey admires Adrian's steadfastness, his acceptance, and his quickness to forgive. Adrian admires Bailey's loving nature, persistence, and the way she stays true to herself. Adrian makes Bailey feel loved every day— especially when he calls her "Snookum Pookums"—and Bailey makes Adrian feel loved by making sure his tummy is always full.
Today, we are most excited for what comes next: building a family, growing in faith, creating a home filled with love, traveling the world together, raising children, and building a legacy rooted in Christ.
Looking back, it's funny how it all started. Adrian turned to the crowd and asked, "Do you hear that?" When no one answered, Bailey did. And we've been answering each other ever since.
